Facebook Group Scams... Again... And Again...
Facebook Group Scams... Again... And Again...
As the new year kicks off, we expect a year of change for the better; however, there are those who merely see it as a time to scam others out of their time or money. We're going to review two viral groups from Facebook, and will be filling them as official Advisories later this week.
We are going to show two of the recent group scams that we came across, and that our members reported to us. Anything similar to these groups that are not officially from facebook, you are advised to ignore them. The number one rule of thumb on the internet is that "If it's too good to be true, it more than likely is."
Download the DISLIKE BUTTON

The group claims that by inviting all of your friends, becoming a fan, and installing their software, you can now have a "Dislike" feature on your pages. This is completely false, as it is impossible to add features to a website.
Advisory: Do not join. If you invited friends, let them know to not join, and come here for additional information.
Get a Notification When Someone Views Your Profile!
The group claims that by inviting all of your friends, becoming a fan, and installing their software, you can now track your friends who view your profile. This cannot be done through external programs. It asks a user to enter the javascript code, "javascript:elms=document.getElementById('friends').getElementsByTagName('li');for(var fid in elms){if(typeof elms[fid] === 'object'){fs.click(elms[fid]);}}" in to the URL bar, which automatically selects all your friends to send invites to.
Advisory: Do not join. Do not enter the javascript code. If you invited friends, let them know to not join, and come here for additional information.
